Basic Science
Westhill School of Medicine is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, published by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Westhill School of Medicine has a four-year medical education program, followed by an internship and social service. During the first two years (four semesters) of medical education, our students must complete the basic science principles block.
Clinical Science
Students engage in core clinical activities for the following two years. Westhill's Medical School student body has over 500 students. They have full access to clinical education conducted in a variety of settings, including community-based clinics and many specialty centers of the I.M.S.S. (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social), the country's largest health maintenance organization, the I.S.S.S.T.E. (Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado), in private hospitals and other locations.
License to practice is guaranteed by the Secretaría de Educación Pública (S.E.P), Dirección General de Profesiones, after completion of all curricular activities.
Students and graduates from Westhill Medical School are eligible to take the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). Passing the examination Step 1, Step 2 and Clinical Skills Assessment (CSA) are necessary for the certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
